When Should You Call a Tow Truck?

When it comes to calling a tow truck, it’s almost always for reasons that aren’t great. It’s usually when you need help and don’t have a way of moving your car on your own. However, you might not know all the different scenarios you can make use of a tow truck in! In this post, we’ll be going over the top 5 times you might need a tow truck, so if you’re ever in a situation like that, you know exactly who you’d need to call!

#1: Accident
This is one that almost everyone is usually aware of. The most common reason why a tow truck needs to be called in is in case of an accident. If you’ve been in an accident with another vehicle or if your vehicle has run into anything else, things usually go one of two ways. Either, your vehicle is damaged but it hasn’t gotten to a point where it can’t be driven, in that case, you will probably be able to drive it away. However, if your vehicle has been significantly damaged, or you’ve sustained injuries in the accident and aren’t physically able to drive it away, either way, the vehicle will be stuck at the accident site. In that case, you will need the help of a tow truck. Sometimes, you might find yourself in the middle of these two instances, where you’re not sure if the vehicle is in a safe enough condition to drive. In this case, you should still call Towing Brooklyn, or a recommended Towing service in your general area to come and inspect your vehicle to make sure it’s safe to drive, if it isn’t, you’re going to have to have the car towed!

#2: Tyre issues
It’s highly unlikely that you’ve owned a vehicle and haven’t run into tyre issues. Tyres have a way with timing, at any point in time, they can decide to go flat, or literally, burst. For larger vehicles, a random tyre flying out is not even something too bizarre, it happens all the time! Most of the time, your tyre issues can be fixed with a simple replacing your “problem tyre” with a spare one! But other times, it’s not that simple. If you’ve damaged multiple tyres, are having trouble removing the tyre to replace it, or tyre has simply flown off, you can’t just drive the vehicle with one tyre missing, so you’ll have to call a tow truck to come help!

#3: Breakdown
Not everyone’s fully versed in the way vehicles really work. Sure, we all know the basics, but if your car just breaks down in the middle of your journey, you might find yourself confused and worried, unable to pinpoint the problem on your own. If the problem is miniscule enough, it could possibly be fixed on the road, but if it’s an unknown problem, and seems to be one that needs extensive repair, it’s a better idea to have it towed to a mechanic who can fully repair the vehicle in a safe space.

#4: Dead Battery
This one is a lot more common than you’d think. Car batteries can be a little unpredictable. One small human error like leaving the headlights on could deplete your car’s battery fairly quickly, leaving you with a dead car in the middle of the road. If your car isn’t moving, and jumpstarting it doesn’t work either, have the car towed to a safe location and have the battery recharged to use it again!

#5: Extreme Weather
This isn’t something everyone will go through, but it is still fairly common in areas that have extreme weather. Your car can get stuck in the snow, mud, water, or any other type of “natural roadblock”. Yanking the vehicle out yourself can be dangerous. A towing service will be able to get your vehicle out safely!
