4 Tips On Motivating Yourself to Reach Your Personal Goals

There has never been a more perfect time to ditch the 9-to-5 grind and go after your dreams. The online world allows you to earn money doing what you love while traveling the world or living wherever you’d like.

Even better is the fact that you can start your own company from your own home if you have that million dollar idea – and the motivation to make it happen.

Too often we get stuck into the same routine and we don’t make that leap to do what we really want and desire. We find our position in life and we settle for what we have. We don’t push ourselves to go after our real goals and we put them in the back of our mind in order to continue with what we have. But that’s not good enough. You deserve everything you’ve dreamt of!

I talked to a few business leaders on going after your goals in life and here’s the advice they wanted to pass along.

(1) Make a Plan and DO IT!

Donny Gamble is a Serial Entrepreneur and the Founder of Retirement Investments.

He was stuck in a job and a position he didn’t love, but he decided not to settle for it. He made a strategic plan to start a side-hustle and transition into a lifestyle he dreamed of. Now, he is a published author and serial entrepreneur who lives as a digital nomad, traveling the world while he runs his own successful company.

“You cannot just pivot in the minute and be where you need to be. It’s all about planning, making a step-by-step procedure that will lead you from one place to the next, and you work hard to make it all happen,” said Gamble when asked about getting to live the life you really want.

(2) Find Time to Recharge

Lindsey Allard is the Co-Founder and CEO of PlaybookUX. In a previous position, she saw a hole in the market and went after it with a co-founder and friend. Through all of the long days and tough decisions, she knows how important it is to find time to recharge your mind so you’re always at your best.

“Balancing work and life is an integral part of living a successful life. Find time to take care of yourself and you’ll be more capable of taking care of business when the time comes,” said Allard.

(3) Talk With People Who Have Been There

Josh Ladick is the President of GSA Focus, Inc.

He was able to reach a high level of success because he did his research, read lots of valuable insight, opened his ears and listened to experts who have been there before, and seek guidance when he needed it.

“Nobody knows it all and there’s always something to learn. If you have a goal in mind, then you need to find people who’ve been there before and take advantage of their experience. What did they do wrong? What advice do they have to share? Talking with other people is invaluable and can make a big difference in how you do.”

(4) Learn to Think Positively!

As the author of this piece, I wanted to share some advice for you to use as you go after your own personal goals.

You need to stay positive through it all if you stand a chance at getting anywhere in life. Even through your stumbles and failures, you need to stay positive and keep going. If you can do this, you’ll make better decisions, make a better impression on others, and you’ll soon be at the finish line of this crazy adventure!
